“Cosmic Folklore”, the 7th full-length album by Crooked Mouth, is a journey through the folklore and esoteric symbols of the sun, the moon, the planets, life, death, and the realm between them, as seen through the lens of the songs and traditions of Old Europe, as well as the post-modern experience of seeking the “new old ways”.

This album combines the Lithuanian, English, Belarusian, and French languages in an attempt to broaden the perspective on this newly emerging worldview.

Words are keys, but the reality they express is the door. Words and languages are perspective, but above them is a transcendent reality. The goal of this album is to perhaps point a finger upwards toward this; to whatever lies beyond the dome of the heavens.

Featuring appearances by Solventis, Greta Gražulytė, Agota Zdanavičiūtė, Virginija Pievos, Sol Abyssorum, Dorotė Girėja , Christopher Brown (Kakophonix), and more, this is the band’s most collaborative album, and perhaps its most sonically diverse. Influences from neofolk, industrial, drone, noise, psychedelic, post-punk intermingle with traditional and ritual music, creating a unique mixture.
