V/A – WHEN WORLDS COLLIDE – 2LP

Description

his is a limited double-LP collection of artists who’ve been on either Fourth Dimension Records or Lumberton Trading Company, or are even indirectly associated. The title, based on the name of a childhood ’50s sci-fi film favourite, not only reflects the bringing together of these two labels but also the fact that most of the artists they are concerned with tend to navigate a wide range of ideas and approaches. The 2LP also began as a reflection of the two labels coming together on 18 May 2024 at London’s Cafe OTO for an event featuring Alternative TV, Splintered, Edward Ka-Spel and Bass Communion. This was the third such label event in London and sold out. The album was initially supposed to tie in with this event but due to growing into something bigger and more expansive (and expensive!) has had to wait a while.

The 2LP, beautifully packaged in a Puppy38 designed sleeve, includes the following artists mostly with exclusive tracks, as follows:
