The multi-talented John Murphy (currently in Foresta di Ferro, Kraang, and Shining Vril) did these recordings with Dominik Guerin in Australia in the early nineties. The music is more or less a follow up to classical SPK music like “Leichenschrei”–hard aggressive screams, rhythms, and noise loops with a partly tribal touch. All produced with old analog equipment. If there is a music to be labeled “old school” than here it is!<\/p>\n

    REVIEW: IKONEN MAGAZIN “Eine der musikhistorisch interessantesten Wiederentdeckungen momentan ist auf dem Mannheimer Tescolabel erschienen: Zwei ehemalige Mitarbeiter der Industriallegende SPK, John Murphy (Livedrummer) und Dominic Guerin (Visuals) hatten mit Jon Evans zusammen zu beginn der 90er Jahre eine Ritual\/Industrialband namens LDL gegründet, die 1992 einige Aufnahmen auf Cassette aufzeichneten. 2001 remixte John Murphy zusammen mit Hunter Barr (Naevus) die wiederentdeckten Tapes. Was den Zuhörer erwartet, sind sehr rhythmusbetonte, rituelle Klangcollagen mit düsteren Vocals, Ethnosamples und schrägen Noisesprengseln. Die Stücke erscheinen äußerst vielschichtig und stilistisch variabel ungeachtet der nicht ganz sauberen Klangqualität (dabei ist das Cassetten-Master zu bedenken). SPK-Fans werden einige typische Sounds wiedererkennen, die auch von der LP “Zamiah Lehmanni” und der “SePuKu”-Maxi bekannt sind. Hervorragend ist das silbrigschimmernde Digipack-Cover designed, das mythisch-archälogische Elemente betont und bereits den Weg Richtung Knifeladder und Shining Vril ankündigt, jener aktuellen Bandprojekte von John Murphy.” <\/p>\n
